Akron Civic Theatre tickets & upcoming events

Step into the Akron Civic Theatre and you'll feel like you're stepping back in time, but with a lively, modern twist. This historic gem in downtown Akron has been a cornerstone of the local arts scene since opening in 1929, and trust me, it shows its age in the best way, ornate chandeliers, intricate plasterwork, and that famous marquee lighting up E Market Street. It’s not just about looking pretty; this place hosts everything from classic movies and big-name concerts to lively children’s shows like the annual holiday performance that kids and adults alike rave about. The stage has seen acts from jazz legends to indie bands, and the vibe is always electric. One of my favorite features is the mezzanine, an elevated spot where you can sneak a peek at the behind-the-scenes action or just enjoy a different perspective of the show, especially in that cozy curved seating arrangement. Parking? Easy enough, just a short walk from the S Main Street lot or hopping off the city bus stop nearby. Planning a night out with friends or family? The theatre offers group discounts, making it perfect for a special outing. And if you're into scoring the best seats, their interactive seating chart is a fun tool to find those hidden gems, whether it’s catching Zach Williams front and center or enjoying a VIP experience at 'Whose Live Anyway?' Honestly, this place isn’t just a theatre; it’s a community hub that keeps Akron’s arts alive and kicking. So, whether you’re a seasoned theatre lover or just looking for a fun night out, the Akron Civic Theatre is calling your name. Don’t sleep on it, there’s always something new to discover here!
